Collier-Lee Honor Flight outstanding

There are no adequate words to describe the actions of the Collier-Lee Honor Flight organization. I had the good fortune to attend Flight 22 on April 30 which took veterans to Washington, DC to spend time at the memorials for our various wars. The trip was managed with efficiency, courtesy and an understanding of retired military veterans. Everything that happened was well planned and professionally executed. And they were all likeable people. From transportation, meals, mail call, etc. Everything went with clockwork efficiency. Too many names to remember, but a brief comment on Kimberly Nelson-Wulff who was my assigned “guardian.” A thoughtful, wonderful, and efficient person who looked after my well-being for the whole day. True, this was a celebration of military service, but it could not have taken place without the outstanding support behind the scenes. So to them I am grateful. This was a day to be remembered. And thanks to you who met us after the Flight. Amazing.

Thank you all and God bless you all.

Why the rush on Yacht Basin plan?

For 86 years, the Fort Myers Yacht Basin has been an iconic part of the city’s waterfront and the gateway to the Caloosahatchee — accessible to all. Even the 5,600-member America’s Great Loop Association has just made it their annual winter rendezvous destination.
